Eligibilty:

  • Must be a South African citizen pursuing a postgraduate study (Masters, Doctoral and Post-doctoral), outside South Africa for the first time, in any discipline at an internationally recognized University of their choice.
  • The successful candidate will have excelled academically in his or her chosen field of endeavour.
  • Applicants should have the potential to be a destiny changer in his or her chosen field. There is no age limit, but preference will be given to candidates under the age of 35.
  • Candidates who are currently, or have been studying overseas, will not be considered for this scholarship.
  • The successful candidate must return to South Africa for at least 5 years after completing his or her studies.

 

Annual Value:

  • R700, 000 for one candidate over two years or worth R350, 000 for two candidates over one year.
  • Other scholarships also available are the Momentum Dippenaar Scholarship (R200,000), FirstRand Assistance Bursaries (varying from R50,000 to R150,000), as well as assistance from the Oppenheimer Memorial Trust.

Applications, including all attachments and reference letters, must be completed online and applicants must have applied directly to the university of their choice by the time the application is submitted.
