NIHSS/SAHUDA Doctoral Scholarship

Eligibilty:

• Full-time Doctoral students in the Humanities and Social Sciences;
• Only South African citizens from designated groups. Preference is given to those from previously disadvantaged backgrounds;
• Successful completion of a Masters degree or entering the first year of Doctoral study following an upgrade from a Masters registration, or registered for PhD study in first year of enrolment.

Scholarship Value:

• R140,000 in the first year of registration
• The maximum period for the award is three years. A 6- or 12-month extension funding for the 4th year of studies is considered by the NIHSS
• Annual renewals are subject to proof of satisfactory progress
