Postgraduate Degrees (Masters and Doctorates) - Studying at South African Universities and Universities of Technology

Terms and Conditions:

• Female students only
• All applications must be made on the SAAWG National Fellowship Awards Application Form
• Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

 

Isie Smuts Award:

• For a female undertaking postgraduate studies/ research in any field.
• Annual value - R1,500.00

 

Bertha Stoneman Award:

• For a female undertaking Postgraduate studies/ research in Botany, Natural Sciences, or related studies (including Environmental Studies).
• Annual value - R3,500.00

 

Mary Agard Pocock Award:

• For a female undertaking postgraduate research studies in Botany, Natural Sciences or related fields (including Environmental Studies)
• Annual value - R2,000.00

 

SAAWG International Fellowship Award:

• For a foreign female student who is enrolled with a South African university for at least one year of postgraduate research.
• Annual value - R1,500.00

 

Hansi Pollak Scholarship:

• For a female undertaking postgraduate research directed towards bettering social conditions in South Africa. The recipient is required to spend at least two years in South Africa after completing the degree, implementing the results of the research.
• Annual value - R3,000 per year for two years
