Students should ensure that the dissertation/thesis/treatise to be submitted is thoroughly proofread and meets the necessary language standards before submission.
Although not mandatory, it is usually recommended that a professional language editor is engaged to assist. Kindly refer to the attached list of editors on this page.
Kindly note that finalisation cost funding is a once-off payment per qualification type.
The application form can be downloaded and submitted to Annette Denakie, no longer than three months prior to planned submission. An invoice or quotation from a reputable editing company must accompany the application. Note that FINAL copies (Hard Bound) are no longer required by the Examinations Office, therefore these costs are not covered by RD.
Note: While the Academic Literacies Writing Programme (formerly the Writing Centre) can sometimes (depending on availability) work with your supervisor to give feedback (free of charge) on the content and focus of your writing, it does not do final language-editing or proofreading.
