Facilitator: Dr Rakeshnie Ramoutar-Prieschl currently holds the position of Head of Department: Research Capacity Development at the University of Pretoria where she is responsible for the portfolio that includes: (i) grants management, (ii) early career training and mentorship, as well as driving (iii) strategic partnerships in support of staff doctoral candidates. She has been appointed as a facilitator, lecturer and trainer for numerous projects in Africa geared towards strengthening the research and grants management capacity, both at universities as well as science granting councils.

 

Target Group: Research managers, administrators, emerging and established researchers who want to apply for funding grants.

 

Background: The worskhop focuses on the basic principles of grants management with a focus on pre-award and post-award focuses. This is particularly important for research managers and administrators. In addition, the workshop also focuses on the key elements of grant writing, and how the early career researcher can prepare a successful grant application.
