Facilitator: : Dr Nolunkcwe Bomela holds a PhD in Sociology, specializing in Social Demography. She was Director of Research Management at Nelson Mandela University until retirement in 2017. Her current research focus areas are maternal mortality, child malnutrition and aging. She has published in several journals and serves as peer reviewer for international journals. She has also successfully supervised several Honours, Masters and PhD students.

 

Target Group: Honours students in the HSS disciplines.

 

Background: The aim of the workshop is to provide participants with thorough grounding in questionnaire development.

 

The following topics will be covered:

  • Importance of questionnaire design in sound data collection
  • Identify measurement objectives
  • Drafting a questionnaire
  • Testing a questionnaire
  • Formatting a questionnaire

Outcomes:

  • Understand and apply principles of questionnaire design.
  • Maximise the impact, engagement and worth of questionnaires.
