Facilitator: Ms Michelle Barnett has worked at Nelson Mandela University for the past 4 years in the Office of Research Development, with her main role to facilitate the implementation of MEOS, the Mandela Ethics Online System. She is now involved across the faculties in training users and providing end-user support for MEOS. 

 

Target Group: Researchers (undergraduates, postgraduates, postdocs and academics)

 

Background: The Mandela Ethics Online System (MEOS) has been launched across all faculties. All researchers that require ethics approval for research involving human participants or animals are required to complete their application for ethics approval on MEOS.

 

This workshop provides an overview of the following:

  • creating an application on MEOS
  • updating your personal details
  • sharing your form with your supervisor
  • uploading relevant documents
  • using the electronic signature function
  • attending to feedback received from the relevant ethics review committee
  • tracking your application
  • creating sub-forms
  • where to find help
