Facilitator: Prof Kelvin Mwaba is a Senior Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of the Western Cape (UWC). He studied at Syracuse University in the USA as a Fulbright Scholar where he obtained his Master and PhD degrees in Psychology. Prof Mwaba has published numerous articles in international journals and presented papers at international conferences. He supervises Masters and PhD students and serves as External Examiner of PhD theses at South African and overseas universities.

Background: The aim of this workshop is to provide a broad understanding of data collection and analysis techniques in qualitative and quantitative research. The presentation will emphasise the link between the research question, study objectives, research design and the kind of data needed for the study. Finally, the workshop will provide an understanding of the process of analysing qualitative and quantitative data, and drawing appropriate conclusions from data collected.
