Will the NRF still support grantholder-linked scholarships?

Yes, however the DSI-NRF Postgraduate Funding Policy is adopting a one call approach, wherein scholarships will no longer be included in research grant awards as was previously the case. All students must apply through the NRF Connect system on https://nrfconnect.nrf.ac.za/ to be considered for postgraduate funding. There is also an ad-hoc application opportunity catering students who have been recruited by an NRF-funded supervisor or supervisor linked to an NRF funded grant, programme or project to be part of a research project and/ or group, under any of the NRF Funding. Details of the ad-hoc opportunity can be obtained from the NRF-DA at respective institutions.
