Facilitator: Dr Nolunkcwe Bomela holds a PhD in Sociology, specializing in Social Demography. She was Director of Research Management at Nelson Mandela University until retirement in 2017. Her current research focus areas are maternal mortality, child malnutrition and aging. She has published in several journals and serves as peer reviewer for international journals. She has also successfully supervised several Honours, Masters and PhD students.

Background: The aim of the workshop is to provide students with a grounding in Qualitative Research. To understand the difference between qualitative and quantitative research. When to choose a qualitative approach and the various designs associated with qualitative research.
