Call for Research Proposals for funding in 2025
Postdoctoral fellowships are aimed at providing a comprehensive training, development, and mentorship programme for the establishment of an independent researcher involved in engaged research. DSI and NRF supports postdoctoral fellowships to promote research and research capacity development in all knowledge fields.
Application Details:
The Call for Proposals for funding of projects is currently open and all applications must be submitted online by the internal deadline date of the 30 April 2024. Applications must be submitted electronically on the NRF Connect system at https://nrfconnect.nrf.ac.za (The application and funding guide provides an overview of the application process and funding guidelines).
Kindly note: the NRF applicant due date 06 May 2024 and Research Development office deadline date to submit all validated applications to NRF is the 20 May 2024. Prior to this date, Research Development screens all applications submitted online by the internal closing date (30 April 2024), provides individual feedback to each applicant, and allows applicants to implement changes before validating applications in time for the NRF’s deadline date. Any applications submitted after the internal closing date will unfortunately not be reviewed for 2025 funding.
Eligibility:
Refer to section 5 of the attached NRF-Postdoctoral Fellowship 2025 framework for eligibility and other criteria. All eligibility criteria as outlined in the Framework document, as well as the applicable requirements, must be taken into consideration before commencing an application on the NRF system.
