Facilitator: Prof Gina Wisker is from the International Centre for Higher Education Management at the University of Bath. She has presented several workshops on academic publication in South Africa, the United Kingdom, Scandinavia, Australasia and New Zealand. She has authored many journal articles and over 26 books, including Getting Published Palgrave Macmillan (2015), The Good Supervisor Palgrave Macmillan (2012), and The Postgraduate Research Handbook Palgrave Macmillan (2007). She is a National Teaching Fellow, Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Senior Fellow of the Staff and Educational Development Association (SEDA), Chief Editor for Innovations in Teaching and Education International, the SEDA journal and serves on the Council and publications committee of the Society for Research in Higher Education (SRHE).
Target Group: Doctoral Supervisors and PhD students
Background: This two-day interactive, remote workshop will focus on developing, structuring, writing and finessing a doctoral thesis, emphasising the importance of and ways of working with a sound theoretical framework. Participants will engage with these issues and practices through research and experience informed inputs and discussion.
